I've been chilling in the studio with Naight - producer and songwriter for Peter Andre. He's a fantastic, inspiring guy who's excited about the prospect of working with us this year. I took the opportunity to give the old vocal chords a run out. It wasn't too comfy sitting on that bass guitar though I can tell you!

So I'm at this gig, yeah? And suddenly, guess who's standing behind me? Alan McGee of britpop amazingness and...
Actually, I knew in advance that the great man would be in the house when my good buddy Michael Mackevych invited me to the exclusive, VIP only get-together at his Smart Art Gallery in Sheffield www.smartartgalleries.com. It was a great night to showcase the multiple creative talents of Alex Lowe, former frontman of Hurricane#1, signed to McGee's Creation Records in the late 90s. Alex played a powerful acoustic set of songs old and new, made the more meaningful by the fact that every canvas on the gallery's walls was his work too. The warm, mutually appreciative atmosphere of the night was complemented by a great DJ set by Alan McGee who went on to announce an exciting joint venture with Michael to set up a music label together. I spent some time chatting with Alan and Alex and found them both to be very personable and generous with their time and encouragement when I told them about our work. Great guys and truly inspiring.

Also this weekend, at Rawk City Studios I bumped into J Marie Cooper who recently appeared on the UK version of singing competition The Voice on BBCTV. She may be out of that show but I expect something amazing from her very soon. Rumour has it that she has continued to work with one of the coaches from that very show. Watch out for her.
