October 2012 - New offices
On the 22nd of October, Think Media Music collected the keys to our new offices in the heart of Sheffield's Cultural Industries Quarter. The super stylish suite within the fabulous Electric Works development is a fitting location for one of the most promising contenders in the UK's new crop of dynamic media houses.
September 2012 - Back to the (Northern) Future
Think Media Music's founder Terry Eckersley has returned to his northern roots and brought the company with him. Terry says "It's tremendous to be back in Sheffield among so many old friends again and close to family yet still connected to London and the World!" He goes on, "I'm really excited about the future we have ahead of us. Being in a creative powerhouse like Sheffield will take us to a whole new level of innovation and artistry as well as linking us to some really influential people. This will be awesome!"
He is right to be excited and optimistic. With not only the strong traditions of music, arts and media in Sheffield but also the recent move of several BBC departments to Media City in Salford (only a short trip over the Pennines), the North of England is flexing its creative muscles ready to entertain and inform the UK and the World. This is truly a great place to be right now.
August 2012 - Come Get Me Is Great!
TMM's Terry Eckersley and Owen Wilkins recently delivered a brand new and downright swingin' track to Dawn Rasmussen of new holiday lettings start-up come-get-me.com. The track began as lyrics penned by Dawn to fit the tune of an already legendary classic track which the company discovered they were unable to license. Dawn got in touch with us and explained the situation and their requirements. Terry and Owen sprung into action and before long had composed and produced another backing track to fit the bill. Just one of the ways Think Media Music are able to turn a disappointment into an exciting opportunity - and save you a fortune too.
May 2012 - Meet and Greet
Think Media Music continues to network with the great and good of the music business, forging links that will bear fruit in the near future. Here is our friend and advertising music contributor Paul Tony/Longland meeting Ed Sheeran recently after seeing him pick up his Ivor Novello award. Well done Ed. Love your work.
Our CEO Terry Eckersley hooked up with (amongst others) Peter Andre's long-term producer and songwriter Naight at his studio in central London. We look forward to working with you soon, Naight.
April 2012 - Money
Think Media Music is launching full force into a new financial year beginning by taking delivery of a large suitcase full of cash. Well, kind of. We received another substantial distribution of royalties from PRS For Music. This was generated by the continuing international success of the Granada-produced documentary series Monkey Business, this time around in Italy and Romania.
Look out for upcoming news of a reorganisation of our library on its way.
March 2012 - Showreels are back on the site
After a short absence, we've added a Media page to the site. This will allow us to link to showreels and promo videos on various sharing sites for you to enjoy as well as appreciating how our tracks work with visuals.
The first to appear is a re-edited version of 'Beautiful World', a Think Media Music promo made by one of our in-house composer/producers, Owen Wilkins. The video contains Owen's own photographs and is backed by his great track 'You Found Me', available to download now and listed under album number TMM066 'Living Vitality'.
What a fabulous, multi-talented bunch we are.
February 2012 - Spring cleaning
The Think Media Music website - that's right, you're looking at it now - is undergoing a bit of a cleanup. Our web team have been rushing about in their aprons and dusting out the nooks and crannies to make the site sharper, cleaner and easier on the eye. We hope you'll enjoy the freshness and be able to get straight to the tracks you need to make your project shine - just like our lovely site.
January 2012 - Prophet's profits
Despite a massive amount of hype recently surrounding some sort of ancient prophecy, the Beautiful World that so inspires the composers of Think Media Music has not in fact ended. Terry Eckersley's slightly less ancient prophecy of an industry that could do with an injection of real joy being turned on its head looks to be growing ever nigh. The unprecedented recent success of our tracks in TV all over the planet and even Dave TV is testimony that his company's counter-intuitive style of just giving the music away is only the beginning of a hugely exciting 2012.
